It’s been anything but an ordinary week for Stanthorpe police who arrested a Townsville woman for her involvement in an alleged incident that could’ve resulted in serious ramifications.
• Stanthorpe police will allege the 32-year-old Townsville woman engaged in a verbal argument with the owner of a box body truck in the Woolworths carpark just after 3.30pm Wednesday.
It is believed once the owner of the truck entered the shopping centre, the 32-year-old woman cut the vehicle’s power steering line.
Police were notified of the incident and a search warrant was later executed at a College Rd address where the Townsville woman was located and charged.
The 32-year-old woman has been charged with endangering the safety of vehicles and is set to appear in Stanthorpe Magistrates Court.
Police believe the pair were unknown to each other at the time of the incident, which could have resulted in serious ramifications.
• In the early hours of Saturday morning Stanthorpe police stopped a 30-year-old Inverell man on Minna St for a random breath test, before allegedly returning a positive result of 0.136.
The man was also allegedly driving while unlicensed and will appear in Stanthorpe Magistrates Court for both offences.
• Stanthorpe police are calling on public assistance after 1.5 tonnes of cut firewood was allegedly stolen from a Granite Belt Drive address between May 6 and 7.
It is believed a white Toyota Prado towing a trailer was seen in the area around the time of the offence.
Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
