DAMAGING winds and large hailstones are predicted to be part of a severe storm in parts of the Burnett this afternoon.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued the severe storm warning for parts of the Wide Bay, Burnett and Southeast Coast forecast districts.
Locations which may be affected includes Brisbane, Maroochydore, Gympie, Caboolture, Ipswich, Moreton Island, Noosa Heads, Cleveland and Redcliffe.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service advises that people should:
-Move your car under cover or away from trees
-Secure loose outdoor items
-Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees
-Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm
-Beware of fallen trees and powerlines
-For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500
