An empty lot in Kingaroy will soon be filled with multiple units after a development application was approved last month by the South Burnett Regional Council.
The RSL Queensland Kingaroy Memerambi Sub Branch had its application approved on April 24 for 14 two-bedroom units to be constructed over four stages on 103, 105 and 105A Alford St, Kingaroy.
According to the application, the units will become permanent accommodation for RSL veterans and families.
The housing estate will be completed over four stages.
Four units will be built over stage one, two units are pegged for stage two and stages three and four will see four units each built.
Each unit will have two bedrooms with built-in wardrobes, a kitchen, bathroom, dining and living area and a laundry.
Outside will include a porch, carport and a small storage shed or container.
Each stage will have slight variations between the units.
There will also be a communal open space in the centre of the estate.
RSL Queensland was established in 1916 and is the largest ex-service organisation in the state.
The organisation provides support, assistance and advice to veterans and their families including employment opportunities, emergency financial support and health and wellbeing programs.
No date has been announced for the construction of the new housing estate.
