UPDATE 2:30PM: A 31-year-old man who committed a series of incidents in the South Burnett yesterday had his bail application refused after appearing in court today.
William Wilfred Ferny Chapman, 31, appeared in the Murgon Magistrates Court on five charges including acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, dangerous operation of a vehicle, evade, driving without a driver licence disqualified by court and robbery.
He was represented by ATSILS and applied for bail, but Magistrate Louisa Pink refused the application.
Mr Chapman will be remanded in custody until his next court appearance on June, 1.
EARLIER 9.14 AM: Police have charged a 31-year-old Murgon man in relation to a series of incidents that occurred yesterday.
The man was charged on five offences including acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, dangerous operation of a vehicle, evade, driving without a driver licence disqualified by court and robbery.
Around 2pm police discharged their firearms after it was alleged that a stolen silver Mazda 3 was driven at them in Victoria St, narrowly missing officers.
None was injured at the scene and the vehicle then allegedly evaded police on the Bunya Highway at Memerambi and continued to be driven in a dangerous manner.
Police located the vehicle and driver at a Wondai address around midnight.
He is due to appear before the Kingaroy Magistrates Court today.
WEDNESDAY 6:30 PM: POLICE are on the hunt for a stolen vehicle involved in a series incidents including reckless driving that occurred earlier today.
At 1.30pm an off-duty police officer sighted a person of interest in the vehicle at a petrol station on Youngman St.
Officers attended the site and then located the vehicle in the backyard of a Victoria St property.
Kingaroy Police said the man drove the vehicle directly at police officers before driving away.
The vehicle was sighted heading towards Memerambi on the Bunya Highway from Kingaroy where it evaded police and continued to be driven dangerously.
A spokeswoman from Queensland Police Service media said police were currently searching a property along Evelyn St, which was believed to have been linked to the incident.
"Police have located a stolen car that was evading police earlier today at 1.30pm," she said.
"The last siting of vehicle was in between Goomeri heading to Murgon.
"They are looking for the person of interest who was driving a Silver Mazda 3 with a Queensland registration of 719VUN.
"We can't confirm if they have the person in custody yet.
"They are conducting a search at a Kingaroy property though."
There were two police crews at the scene.
Police said anyone who saw the vehicle was urged not to approach it but to call police immediately.
