A number of Kingaroy business owners and residents have been targeted in a shocking spate of break-ins and property-related crime overnight, with one woman arrested and police on the hunt for more alleged offenders. FULL DETAILS:

Several Kingaroy business owners and residents have been targeted in a shocking spate of break-ins and property-related crime overnight.

Offenders first hit a Coral St home at about 3.20am Friday, trying to force their way inside through a door before leaving the scene.

Police say it was only a short while later that a car was stolen from a nearby Moore St home.

Thieves then struck at both the Sports First store and the Kingaroy Golf Club, with offenders stealing a number of items from both premises.

Investigators are still determining whether the incidents are connected.

The region’s trend of vehicle thefts is yet to show signs of slowing with police tasked to two car break-ins within two hours on Sunday, ending in the arrest of a teenager.

A resident called police after she allegedly spotted the 18-year-old woman attempting to break into their car, which was parked outside the Webster St property.

Police quickly arrived at the scene and arrested the young Ellesmere woman, allegedly finding a small amount of marijuana also in her possession.

She was charged with one count each of unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and possessing dangerous drugs, and is due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 7.

Kingaroy officers were called to the scene of another reported car break-in outside a pub that same night, where a resident had found an unknown offender had forced their vehicle open and taken a backpack, carry bag, and a wallet and other personal belongings.

Investigations are ongoing.
