Motorbike stolen at knifepoint at Goomeri Shell Service Station camp

A manhunt is underway after a motorcyclist camped for the night behind a Queensland service station was held up at knifepoint in a shocking attack in the dead of night.

The victim of an armed robbery in Goomeri was staying at a free camp behind the Goomeri service station and is hoping he will get his motorbike back.

A police hunt is on after a free camping motorcyclist was injured in an armed hold-up behind the Goomeri service station on Friday night, August 23.

Elliot Bugler, 46, was in a free camp behind the Shell Service Station in Goomeri when he says two men held him up by knifepoint shortly after midnight.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said police were investigating the armed robbery.

“A man was staying at a camping area on McIvor Street when he was approached by two males, one armed with a knife,” she said.

“One of the males demanded his keys and the man refused.

“He was assaulted and threatened with a knife.”

The police spokeswoman said the man received minor injuries.

The pair stole his motorcycle and fled.

A Facebook post shared to the Goomeri Community Group showed a picture of the motorbike along with a plea for South Burnett residents to look out for it.

The bike was reportedly ridden through Cherbourg at the weekend, the post stated.

The post stated that a second man was involved in the robbery and was armed with a screwdriver at the time of the incident.

The police spokeswoman said anyone who saw the incident or saw anything in the vicinity of McIvor St near the time was urged to contact police via Policelink or Crime Stoppers.

An investigation continues.
