A South Burnett man has been remanded in custody on 16 charges, including making, possessing and distributing child exploitation material and using the internet to try to procure children under the age of 12.

A Nanango man has been remanded in custody on 16 charges, including making, possessing and distributing child exploitation material and using the internet to try to procure children under the age of 12.
Jarrod Andrew Swanson, 42, was due to front Kingaroy Magistrates court on Friday, January 31, 2025.
Mr Swanson did not appear in person as he was in jail, but was represented by a duty lawyer from Smith Criminal Law.
He is charged with one count each of making, possessing and distributing child exploitation material, two counts of using the internet to procure children under 12 years of age, one count each of possessing explosives without the authority to do so, contravening a requirement to produce a digital device, giving false or misleading information, and eight counts of failing to comply with reporting.

The court heard Mr Swanson’s lawyers sent a registry committal to the police on all charges except the explosives’ charge, and requested a lengthy adjournment so the committed matters could progress.
Magistrate Andrew Sinclair granted the adjournment.
There was no application for bail.
Mr Swanson will front Kingaroy Magistrates Court again on March 10, 2025.
