The young driver charged over a devastating crash that left a young Murgon woman dead and two other people, including herself, seriously injured has had her case move forward.

A driver accused of causing the crash that left a young Murgon woman dead and two others including herself seriously injured has had her case progress in court.

Amber Noaleen Mabb was last year charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death and dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm.

The former Murgon woman is alleged to have caused the horror crash at Cushnie in January 2021.

Duty lawyer Jay Rose appeared as an agent for Ms Mabb’s solicitors Fallu McMillan Lawyers, and asked for the case to be adjourned again.

Ms Rose told the court the lawyers had received the brief of evidence, but there were still medical records outstanding.

She also said a decision on whether to apply to cross-examine witnesses, in particular the forensic crash investigator, had yet to be made.

Police allege Ms Mabb was travelling on Chinchilla Wondai Rd on January 15 when she failed to give way to a dual cab at the Cushnie Rd intersection, causing the other car to slam into the passenger’s side of her hatchback at high speed.

The front passenger of the hatchback, a 22-year-old Murgon woman, died at the scene.

Another passenger, a 22-year-old Surfers Paradise man, and Ms Mabb were treated by paramedics at the scene before being flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

The sole occupant of the dual cab, a 24-year-old Nikenbah woman, was taken to Kingaroy Hospital for observation.

The case was adjourned to March 1.
