A Kingaroy teenager will be the youngest ever competitor on Muster Dogs when the 2025 series launches early in February.
Nathan Obst, 17, is described as a “self-assured and experienced dog trainer”. He has experience training Kelpies but is looking forward to working with his border collie, Chief, and is motivated to learn more about dog training, a passion passed down from his grandfather.
He will be competing against five other trainers from all over the country, including fellow Queensland contestant Renee Spencer, 26, from the Central Highlands.
The six-part series follows the six contestants and their dogs over 12 months to see whether they are able to turn their puppies into successful members of their mustering pack and win the title of Champion Muster Dog.
This season will be the first to feature both collies and kelpies, giving viewers the opportunity to see the strengths and weaknesses of both breeds.
Muster Dogs Season 3 will premiere on Sunday, February 2 at 7.30pm on ABC TV and ABC iview.
