In a world where dating apps often fall short, South Burnett is celebrating real, down-to-earth men with our Best Bachelor poll — and the community has spoken, crowning a Nanango local as the region’s favourite bachelor for 2025.

Jordan Wilson, a 27-year-old fabricator and a “bit of a character”, has officially been crowned the South Burnett’s favourite bachelor for 2025.

Mr Wilson, who grew up in the region and whose family owns a cattle property outside Nanango, was a frontrunner from the start, consistently topping the polls.

He ultimately secured 20 per cent of the vote, receiving 57 out of more than 280 total votes.

When asked how it feels to take home the crown, Mr Wilson said he must have “a lot of good mates” who voted for him.

“I’d say the boys and girls, whoever it was who nominated me, thought it’d be a good stitch up,” he said.

The father-of-two describes himself as someone who is laid-back, family-oriented, and likes to have a laugh.

“I got pretty good banter. I don’t mind having a joke,” he said.

“I’m not real good at talking myself up, to be honest.

“I’m fairly laid back and relaxed, nothing much really phases me. But family comes first.”

Mr Wilson, who has been single for about a year following a long-term relationship, said he is open to love if the right person comes along.

When asked about what he looks for in a potential girlfriend, he said someone with a good sense of humour, who can “take a joke”, and loves XXXX Gold.

But above all, loyalty was the most important trait he valued in his partners.

His ultimate date in the South Burnett would be a “Friday night at the Fitzroy”, a pub where he is a familiar face.

He is also a regular on the footy field, and has been playing for the Nanango Stags rugby league team “for his whole life”.

He reckons his mates are green with envy over his nomination and win.

“Oh, I’m sure they’re all jealous,” he said.

Rebecca Jackson was one of the people who nominated Mr Wilson, and said he was “Nanango’s best and finest”.

“You will find him during the week being a single dad and on the weekend being a single bloke,” she wrote.

“Surely our local lad, Jordan Wilson, would be the hottest bachelor in the South Burnett.”

For future bachelors looking to claim his title, Mr Wilson’s advice is simple: “Just be a true blue Aussie.”
