Man run over by car near Boondooma Dam has sustained serious leg injuries

A man in his 50s has sustained a serious leg injury after being run over by a car in the South Burnett region.

A man has been left with a serious injury after being run over by a car on Okeden Road in Stalworth.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics on Sunday morning assessed and treated a man in his 50s with serious leg injuries after an incident between him and car.

The incident happened around 8.30am near Boondooma Dam, about 10km northwest of Proston.

The man is conscious and breathing, a QAS spokesperson said.

The QAS spokesperson said the incident was believed to be an accident after he tried to get in the vehicle and slipped, hitting the accelerator. No other person was involved.

The police were not called out.

He has been transported to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition, they said.
