Elderly man airlifted to hospital after D’Aguilar Hwy crash at South Nanango

The D’Aguilar Hwy is closed as an elderly man is airlifted to Royal Brisbane Hospital following a serious crash in South Nanango.

A highway is blocked and an elderly woman and man are injured after a 4WD and truck crash at the D'Aguilar Hwy and Buckland Rd.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called at 11.44am Friday to the scene of the crash at South Nanango.

It is understood the elderly woman has arrived at Kingaroy Hospital.

The elderly man was airlifted in a serious condition to the Royal Brisbane Hospital after being trapped in the vehicle.

Four crews responded and worked to free the elderly man from the vehicle.

The male passenger in his 40’s did not require any medical assistance.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed there were three people involved.

Police were also on the scene.

It was understood the highway was closed in both directions.
