Crews tend to 6 fires in South Burnett and surrounds

QFES crews have kept busy as several fires flared up this afternoon around the South Burnett.

QFES crews are continuing to monitor a grass fire at Goodger this evening.

There are currently eight crews on scene attending to the fire burning near Weeks Rd and Boonenne Ellesmere Rd.

There is no threat to properties at this point in time.

Firefighters are working to contain the blaze.

Smoke is affecting the area and residents should close windows and doors and keep respiratory medication close by.

People should call 000 immediately if they or their property is under threat.

A second grass fire started up at Gordonbrook at 4.20pm on Sunday afternoon.

One QFES crew are currently on scene at the fire near Holts Rd and Wicks Rd.

Another grass fire is burning in East Nanango with three QFES crews on scene.

The fire is currently near Mount Stanley Rd and Calvert Rd.

Anyone travelling should also be aware of a bushfire at Mount Stanley, in the Somerset Region.

The bushfire is burning in the Elgin Vale State Forest, to the north of Linville.

Nearby areas may be affected by a smoke haze.

There is another grass fire at Avoca Vale, where there are currently three crews attending to a to the blaze.

Residents nearby are urged to stay informed as the blaze burns near 1529 Mount Stanley Rd.

A bushfire warning is still in place for the Monsildale blaze.

Residents are urged to stay informed and be advised of any changes to the fire to the northeast of Linville.

Residents will need to decide what actions they will take if the situation changes.

The fire was burning west of Monsildale Rd, between Louisavale Rd and Tableland Rd.
