SOUTH Burnett Regional Council has begun construction works a local road with plans to be finished by the end of the year.

Upgrades to Transfer Station Access Rd at Proston will be completed by the end of December 2019.

Council said access to the Transfer Station will be available while the works are in progress.

The upgrades were funded through the council’s 2019/2020 capital program.

In order to provide a safe work environment, the work areas will be controlled by signage or with traffic controllers as required.

Motorists are requested to travel with extreme care, drive to the new road conditions and to follow the signage.

Council said they apologised for any inconvenience caused and thanked the community for their patience while works are in progress.
