Social media stars have quickly established themselves as some of the most influential figures of the next generations, and the Burnett is certainly no exception.

The South Burnett Times has trawled the internet and social media platforms to find some of the biggest names making waves online in our region.

Here’s our list of the Burnett’s 15 most powerful social media influencers:

Chef Roberta Schablon

Chef Roberta Schablon, owner of The Saucy Fork, has made it her mission to highlight all the great produce the Burnett has to offer, and shares her delicious creations and lifestyle on her Instagram.

The chef boasts more than 1100 followers on her page already.

Since stunning Australia with her incredible performances on The Voice, Julee Anne Bell has continued to go from strength to strength – releasing her debut album “Love Notes”

The inspiring music teacher boast more than 1300 followers on Instagram, where she regularly posts videos of herself playing and singing.

Her page regularly shows off her work and boasts more than 1500 followers.

He’s the man with the beard, but most will likely know him as the face of the Martoo Review and a regular supplier of doughnuts.

Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Damien Martoo is well-known in the region and regularly seen about Kingaroy and the wider South Burnett.

Known to most as Damo, Mr Martoo is best known for his online presence with the Martoo Review, a unique media business that has attracted somewhat of a cult following in the region.

His Facebook page has more than 5200 followers, with another 1300 on his Instagram page.

Dylan Devitt BMX

Kingaroy local Dylan Devitt and amassed quite the following on social media, posting videos and photos of his incredible talent on a BMX bike, as well as his adventures through the world.

With more than 4300 Instagram followers and a whopping 14.5k followers on TikTok, Dylan is easily one of the biggest names in the Burnett social media game.

Selwyn Cobbo

Broncos wonder kid and local hero, Selwyn Cobbo has quickly made his mark on the world of the NRL.

His new found fame and awesome skills have earned him plenty of attention and followers to boast his already sizeable local fandom.

Cobbo boast more than 19,000 followers on Instagram, and the number is rising nearly everyday.

Australia’s golden girl Cathy Freeman lit the fire inside Taliqua Clancy, who knew at just eight years old she too would one day be representing her country at the Olympic Games.

Fast forward to 2021 and the star beach volleyball player is sporting an Olympic silver medal alongside teammate Mariafe Artacho del Solar after their tough loss to the US side.

Raised in Kingaroy, the dual Olympian boast more than 33,000 followers on her Instagram page.

Becoming a cricket sensation at only 14 after securing a hat-trick in her first three balls of her men’s grade debut, Holly Ferling was always going to be a star.

She debuted for the Australian Women’s Cricket Team at 17 in ODI, T20, and test cricket, all while completing her schooling in Kingaroy.

The cricketer has now broadened her horizons as a media personality, journalist and brand ambassador.

Her Instagram page clearly shows her success, with more than 78,000 followers.

This Kingaroy boy needs no introduction, with the cricketing legend a household name in Australia and in many parts of the world.

But while his cricket playing day may be far behind him, Matthew Hayden has taken up a new sport in social media stardom, and he’s pretty damn good at it.

His Instagram page gives followers a peek into his retirement adventures, shares great photos from his time as a player, and even boasts a collection of delicious cooking recipes.

It may come as no surprise that he has amassed more than 200,000 online followers.
