Meet the 2023 school leaders who have big plans to shake up their schools and promote positive change.
From wanting to make schools more inclusive to becoming a role model to younger students, these impressive leaders of tomorrow are eager to start their leadership terms.
Roma State College school captains Anna Proud, Carla Graham, Brayden Black and Hannah Mitchell were elected into office just before the end of the school year and will begin their term at the beginning of the next school year.
However, just down the road at St John’s Catholic School they have a slightly different process.
Instead of calendar year terms, student leaders begin six months earlier and take on their role halfway through the year to allow for year 12s to focus on their end of examinations.
School captains Kissea Cruz and Max Heningsen have done an excellent job so far, and at almost halfway through their term, they’re still just as energised and eager to create change.
“Like the previous school leaders, (I want to) give back to the school community”, Kissea said.
“I would like to continue to be a role model for young students to look up to and leave a legacy at St John’s”, Max said.
However, at St John’s Catholic School there is a large leadership team working alongside the school captains with equally as big ambitions.
House Prefects play just as big a role in the school, so keep reading as we list the rest of the 2022/23 leadership team.
