Woman, toddler in rollover followed by ‘sticky’ truck crash on highway
Bystanders have rescued a toddler who was in a car rollover on the Warrego Highway before a young woman in her 20s was cut from the vehicle. The drama was followed by a truck rollover which spilt 30,000 litres of molasses.

A lengthy stretch of the Warrego Highway has been covered in molasses after a truck crash on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to the scene at Blythdale just before 3.30pm, where an estimated 30,000 litres of molasses were flowing from three tanks on a crashed truck.
Queensland police reported the occupant made a sweet escape with no injuries.
However, about 100 metres of the Warrego highway is slathered in the substance.
As of 4.30pm, the highway was still closed in both directions.
Earlier, a young woman and a toddler have escaped major injury after their vehicle rolled into a ditch off the Warrego Highway.
Queensland Ambulance Service said they treated two patients for injuries after the crash at Jondaryan near Duke Street at 1.48pm on Thursday.
Other drivers stopped to help free the toddler who was in a capsule in the back seat.
An auxiliary fire crew from Oakey used firefighting equipment to help free the woman who was driving the vehicle. Dave Gundy from the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services told media that both occupants ‘were very lucky after the vehicle rolled several times.’’
Firefighters freed the woman in her 20s while toddler was being comforted by bystanders.
“The little child was quite fortunate that he was strapped into his baby capsule.,’’ Mr Gundy said.
The woman was put on a spinal board and taken to Toowoomba Base Hospital to be treated for her injuries.
