Police are one step closer to uncovering the truth behind a blaze that tore through a Chinchilla home last month.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said investigators were continuing to probe the circumstances surrounding the blaze, which has now been confirmed as suspicious.

“No charges have been laid yet,” she said.

“It’s being treated as suspicious. Investigations are ongoing.”

Emergency crews arrived at the Beutel St address on Friday June 24 at 6.25pm following reports of a house fire.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze by 7pm, which took hold in the rear of the house.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said no patients were injured or required treatment at the scene.
