Roma fairy light festivities

Festive fun for Roma this year.

IT IS now only 11 sleeps until the man in red slides down the chimney and delivers specials gifts under the Christmas tree with his reindeers in tow.

Residents in Roma are channelling their inner Christmas cheer and decking the halls with bounds of fairy lights and red and green to celebrate.

To help encourage other community members to join in the festive fun, a Facebook group called Roma Christmas Light Locations has set up a Christmas light display competition.

The official competition is now open, with residents posting photos of their displays, big or small, for their chance to be in the running.

Voting will finish on Saturday, December 22 and the top three best displays will be announced on Sunday, December 23, just in time for Christmas.

The winner will be decided by the Facebook public through a voting system.

Haymans Electrical Roma has donated first and second prizes and Nails and Beauty with Emma has donated third prize.
