The greatest gift for a young Roma couple was their first child, who came in to the world on Christmas Day.

THE ARRIVAL of their baby girl was the greatest Christmas present Hannah Knight and Dusty Clem could have asked for.

At 4.52pm on Christmas Day, the Roma couple welcomed Harlee Joy Clem in to the world, weighing 3515g and measuring 51cm.

She is the first child for the couple, who are absolutely smitten with their newborn daughter.

“I’m probably a bit biased, but she is beautiful and absolutely perfect,” Ms Knight said.

“We weren’t expecting her to arrive on Christmas Day – she was due on December 21st, but I went in to labour at about 3am on Christmas morning.

“She is the most amazing Christmas present ever, and I think this will be a hard one to top.”

The first-time parents took their daughter home on Friday, and within hours had received a number of visits from family – who had spent much of their Christmas Day guessing baby’s birth time and weight.

“We have had lots of visitors to come and see her, and I’m loving it,” Ms Knight said

“It is so joyful to have her here.”

“She’s the fifth grandchild on my side of the family, but the first for my partner’s family, and his parents are just over the moon to have their first grandchild at Christmas.”

Harlee Joy was also the first Christmas baby for the attending midwives at Roma hospital.

“I just want to thank the team at the hospital,” Ms Knight said

“They came rushing in from their own Christmas celebrations for me, and were absolutely wonderful.”
