RUGBY LEAGUE: The boys from Wallumbilla/Surat made an impressive comeback after losing to Roma Cities the previous week and trounced the Miles Devils on Sunday.

After a slash to their confidence last weekend, the Red Bulls came out fighting in Surat to beat the Devils 54-8. Team coach Les Allwood said the game was a big improvement.

"This week we completed and our attack had a lot more variation.

"There were also a few positional changes which also helped,” Allwood said.

Players began strong from the starting siren, finding their feet and pushing hard towards the try line.

At the half-time buzzer Red Bulls were on top of the game, leading 30-4, Miles struggling to find form down the field.

With finals on the horizon, every game played is vital but Allwood is confident.

Currently the Red Bulls sit third on the ladder with Roma Cities in second and Chinchilla on top.

"We still need to work on our shape and attack mainly and, going into finals, we will be competitive and we should shape up all right,” Allwood said.

"Last week we really needed to work on our discipline in defence and our shape in attack,” he said.

In other grades, the reserve grade won 44-22 and under-16s took the win confidently with a 44-4 win.

On Friday evening Cities hosted St George.

With kick-off not until almost 9pm, Cities were eager to keep alive their winning streak.

With cold and dark conditions, Roma pulled together and came through to win 50-12.
