THE ROTARY Club of Roma made a generous $10,000 donation to the Pinaroo Aged Care Facility last Thursday.
The funds, which were raised during the biannual rotary club dinner held at Explorers last year, will be used to fund refurbishments at the facility.
Rotarian Norm Fowles said the funds had been raised through ticket sales and an auction on the night.
"It was a great event and all the guests had a great time,” Mr Fowles said.
"There were a couple of other functions on the same night, so the numbers were a little down however lots of people turned up to see our guest speaker Kerry O'Keeffe, the Australian cricketer, and we had a number of other performers.
"We had 130 people turn up on the night and now we are thinking what we can do to switch it up for the next one.”
Pinaroo facility manager Ian Murphy said the rotary club did incredible work in association with Pinaroo.
"Pinaroo is an independent stand-alone aged care facility and large donations such as this is most appreciated,” Mr Murphy said.
"Due to the changing needs of our residents, the funds will go towards the purchase of new hospital beds.
"On behalf of of all residents and staff at Pinaroo, we would like to thank the rotary club for its generous long-standing support.”
