Team Penning: Maranoa Penning held its annual penning competition at the weekend.

The competition kicked of at Bassett Park Rodeo Grounds at 10am with a good crowd of newcomers attending for their first go.

The cattle proved to be very sticky for riders and horses, with only a few times recorded in each round and only the penning of one or two head of cattle.

Eventual winners of the tough competition were the only ones to pen three head of cattle in the allocated time of two minutes.

In the barrel racing competition Brodie Sidney took home the win with Shae Reynolds and Lisa Ross securing second and third.

A big thank you has been expressed from the Maranoa Team Penning to Jim Schefe and Graham Hardwick for providing the cattle and Jim and Gary Schefe for transporting the cattle.
