Ball Park Music, Paul Dempsey visit Charleville for Outback Trails festival

Queensland Music Trails’ outback event is set to be a huge tourism boost for the area, and features a massive line-up of musical talent. Here’s how locals can get cheap tickets to the events.

Outback Queensland towns are set to get a big boost in tourism thanks to The Outback Trail taking place in April, which is expected to bring hundreds of tourists to the bush for seven spectacular events.

Queensland Music Trails is hosting seven events over nine days from April 14 to April 21, which will span across the vast southwest Queensland outback.

Plus, locals in a South West Queensland postcode are being offered a 30% “local legends” discount for a limited time on Moshtix, and MobTix are on offer for First Nations people.

The events include the gully sessions at Nindigully Pub, ballads and bush yarns at Charlotte Plains, culinary constellations at Quilpie, the big bush dance at Tambo Shire Hall, the Outback River Lights Festival at Cunnamulla, the Outback Sounds festival at Charleville Showgrounds, and the Sundowner at the Western Queensland Distillery.

One of the biggest attractions on the trail will be the Outback Sounds festival – a one-day family-friendly festival at the Charleville showgrounds on April 20.

Several big ticket artists will be trekking to Charleville for the festival including Brisbane band, Ball Park Music, Paul Dempsey, Pierce Brothers, Taylor Moss and Tori Forsyth.

Tourism Minister Michael Healy said that with a stellar line up, the 2024 Outback Trail was set to be a fantastic mixture of incredible locations and sensational music.

“The Outback Trail has become a must-see on the Queensland events calendar with a star-studded 2024 line up set to further enhance the state’s reputation as a world-class music festival destination,” he said.

Charleville mayor Shaun Radnedge said that he is excited by the interest in the event so far.

He said that ticket sales in the first week have been higher than in previous years.

Approximately 150 artists and arts workers, and 50 First Nations artists will be involved in the preparation and execution of the event.
