EDRINE Keegan's school of ballet has come a long way from their first ever charity concert, which raised five pounds for the Blue Nurses back in 1965.

At their most recent recital, held late last year, the dancers raised $2000 for the Roma Lions' drought relief efforts, and two members of the local club stopped by rehearsal to collect the money this week.

As well as the cash donation, Ms Keegan also donated a hand-made crocheted blanket to the Lions' Youth InSearch foundation, which helps young people who are doing it tough.

Ms Keegan said the proceeds from the concert went to a different cause every year.

"Our charity concerts have been held annually since 1984, and have supported a different cause every year.

"I would like to thank the Maranoa Regional Council for their help around concert time, we couldn't do it without them,” she said.
