Woman seriously injured, hospitalised after CQ mine site incident

A woman was taken to hospital in a serious condition following an incident on a Central Queensland mine site.

A woman has sustained serious injuries following an incident at a mine site on Thursday night.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at Clermont on Blair Athol Connection Road at 10.35pm.

Blair Athol Connection Road is the stretch of road that connects the Blair Athol Mine to the Gregory Highway.

A spokesman for Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said one crew attended the incident where a dump truck had made contact with a powerline.

The QFES spokesman said the crew arrived about 11pm to help remove the woman in her 40s from the vehicle.

She was then in the hands of paramedics before she was taken to Clermont Hospital in a serious condition.

A spokesperson for Resources Safety and Health Queensland said they were aware of the incident.

“Resources Safety and Health Queensland is aware of the incident at Blair Athol Mine and investigations are underway,” the spokesperson said.

TerraCom, who operate the Blair Athol Mine, have been contacted for comment on the incident.
