Three people have been taken to hospital after a truck collided with a train near Biloela on Thursday morning.
Emergency crews were called to the incident on Jambin Dakenbah Rd about 7.20am.
It is understood the trailer of the truck clipped the coal train at a level crossing at Earlsfield.
A spokesman for Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said one crew attended the incident to make the scene safe, chocking the wheels of the truck so it wouldn’t move anywhere.
He said when the crew arrived three people were in the hands of paramedics.
A spokeswoman for Queensland Ambulance Service said three people, two from the truck and one from the train, were taken to Biloela Hospital in stable conditions with minor injuries.
There are expected to be some delays in the area.
A spokesman for Aurizon, who operates the train line, confirmed the incident occurred and that there were no major injuries.
The spokesman said the train line was expected to be back running by Thursday afternoon.
“At approximately 7.15 am this morning, a truck and an Aurizon coal train collided at a level crossing in Earlsfield approximately 20 kilometres north of Biloela, on the Central Queensland Coal Network,” the spokesman said.
“Thankfully there were no injuries reported to our train drivers or the driver of the truck.
“Aurizon anticipates that the impacted Moura line will be up and running later this afternoon.”
The incident comes almost two months after a freight train derailed at Marmor, between Rockhampton and Gladstone.
On January 29, a Pacific National freight train derailed and collided with an Aurizon coal train at the Bills Rd crossing.
The incident caused significant damage to the crossing and the rail corridor was closed to all trains until repairs were complete.
The derailment is currently being investigated by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.
