Rural brand R.M. Williams is opening a store at Stockland Rockhampton.
The store, which sells clothing, accessories, footwear and lifestyle products, will be located in the former Ripcurl store, between Awesome Nails and Typo.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming the well-loved Australian brand, RM Williams to Stockland Rockhampton soon,” a Stockland spokesperson said.
R.M. Williams was founded in 1932 by Reginald Murray Williams in Adelaide and has grown to be sold in more than 15 countries with 74 stories and 784 stockists.
Mining magnate Andrew and Nicola Forrest’s private investment group Tarrarang acquired 100 per cent of R.M. Williams in 2020, putting in back Australian hands.
Jobs full-time, part-time and casual sales associates have been advertised online for the “new Rockhampton store”.
Employees will receive a generous product allowance to be fitted head to toe in R.M. Williams, a 40 per cent employee discount, paid parental leave and exclusive private health partnership.
There are more than 60 retail locations across Australia and New Zealand, with the closest stores to Rockhampton in Mackay and the Sunshine Coast.
In other Stockland news, piercing shop Skin Kandy will move to the former Sanity store, beside Wallace Bishop and Surf Dive and Ski are moving to the former Loot store at the other end.
Stockland is Rockhampton’s largest shopping centre with 164 speciality stores.
