Hedlow Airfield on the Capricorn Coast is going to auction in March, with interest coming from across Australia.
The 614-acre property at 221 Old Byfield Road, Mulara, is to be auctioned through Harcourts Low and Co.
The property boasts two bitumen airstrips, as well as three hangers, nine dongas, including a bathroom donga, and a four-bay carport.
Property agent Jazz Cullen said she had been inundated with phone calls from people enquiring about the property.
“There is lots of interest because there is nothing like it comparable on the market,” Ms Cullen said.
“It is one of the most phenomenal properties I have ever seen on the Yeppoon market.
“It is pretty extraordinary.”
She said the interest was coming from across the country, with calls coming from Tasmania, Victoria and towns west of Rockhampton, including Alpha, Clermont and Monto.
She said the new owner could capitalise from the airfield with the possibility to expand.
Ms Cullen said the property was leased to Skydive Capricorn and a flight trainer but that it would be up to the buyer if that continued.
“It is up to the buyer at the end of the day but it would be nice to see it continued on,” she said.
The property boasts a five-bedroom homestead with a large shed, a three-bedroom cottage and 14 spelling yards with stables.
There are also steel yards with an undercover cattle crush, three covered stables and a machinery shed.
The property borders Hedlow Creek and has a 2.5-hectare irrigation licence, as well as three dams and 13 water tanks.
The estimated carrying capacity is 300 breeders.
The property is going to be auctioned on site on March 11 at 11am.
“We are expecting it to be quite a big turnout with the interest we have had,” Ms Cullen said.
“It is just something not to be missed.”
