A three-bedroom home close to the beach at Emu Park has sold under the hammer to a local buyer for $297,000.

The property at 28 Hartley Street sold at auction on July 17 through Ray White Yeppoon.

Sales agent Kate Stock said there was a crowd of 23 people at the auction, with six registered bidders.

Ms Stock said the property had quite a bit of interest before it sold.

“It definitely caught the eye,” she said.

“We had about 30 people through the home.

“Lots of younger couples were looking to put their own style into it and making it a nice little family home.”

She said the buyers were a young local couple.

The property, set on a large 824 sqm fenced block, boasts three bedrooms, one-bathroom, laundry, open style lounge and dining areas that flow through to the kitchen, and a large veranda.

The property also had an additional room that could be converted into a fourth bedroom or office, and a large shed that still allowed plenty of room in the backyard.

The property was also close to Emu Park State School, town, and the beach.

Ms Stock said the home needed a bit of work but was great for the new owners.

“I’m really glad it went to someone that’s going to really love being there,” she said.
