A single mother who had relapsed into drug use stole a PlayStation 4 and sold it for $100.

Tamara Hope Conlon, 29, pleaded guilty in Rockhampton Magistrates Court to one count each of stealing and fraud.

Police prosecutor Courtney Brown said Conlon had arranged to go to the victim’s house to collect some of her own property from the address on January 26.

Ms Brown said Conlon went to the house at 12.45pm, collected her items and stole the victim’s PlayStation 4.

She said Conlon sold the PlayStation 4 on March 15 for $100.

She said it was later recovered by police.

Defence lawyer Rebecca Winning said her client, who was a single mother to a young child, knew the victim and had prearranged to collect some items of her own from the house and conceded she took the PlayStation and sold it later.

Ms Winning said drugs had been an issue for her client in the past and at the time of the offending she had relapsed.

“She has cleaned herself up,” she said.

“She is trying her best.”

Conlon was ordered to six months probation.

Criminal convictions were recorded.
