Police called to incident at Mostyn St Berserker

New details about a police operation which shutdown suburban streets at Rockhampton as officers negotiated with a person inside a home have been revealed. UPDATES.

A police emergency which caused officers to swarm a home at Rockhampton and block off surrounding streets has come to an end.

It comes after several hours of negotiations with a person inside a home in Berserker.

A spokesman for Queensland Police Service said crews were called to a mental health incident at Mostyn St on Thursday in the early afternoon.

The spokesman said the incident wrapped up just before 4pm.

Earlier, a spokesman said there was no risk of harm to the community.

Eddington, Mostyn and Bawden Streets were blocked during the operation.

The spokesman said the streets were closed as a “precaution”.
