A man has fronted court after smashing a glass and causing a scene at a Rockhampton pub after being refused service.
Mathew Siroi pleaded guilty in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on November 13 to committing a public nuisance.
Police prosecutor Corey O’Connor said police were walking through the Brunswick Hotel on October 27 when they heard a glass smash.
Mr O’Connor said police entered the bar area and saw security officers attempting to remove Siroi from the venue.
“The defendant was yelling and swearing and refused to leave the premises,” he said.
He said patrons at the venue had moved out of the way of Siroi.
He said police obtained a version from employees and security officers who stated Siroi became hostile when he was refused service and threw glass at the ground, causing it to smash.
He said Siroi was arrested and transported to Rockhampton Watchhouse.
Siroi told the court he had “went through a lot in the last two months”.
“I had a lot going on,” he said.
He was fined $600.
No criminal conviction was recorded.
