A man in his 40s had to be taken to Rockhampton Hospital after he was bitten by a snake at night.

Paramedics had to take a man in his 40s to Rockhampton Hospital after he was bitten by a snake just after midnight on Saturday.
Queensland Ambulance Service said the bite occurred at a Frenchville home on February 2.
It follows numerous snake bites across Central Queensland during the school holidays.
A young boy was taken to Rockhampton Hospital after he was bitten at a Berserker home at almost the same time, 11.36pm, in early January, while two women were bitten by snakes just last weekend in the Gladstone region.
Tragically, a 16-year-old boy died after being bitten by a brown snake late last year.
Beau Horan was bitten by a brown snake on the foot on Monday, November 25 at his family home in Wurdong Heights, south of Gladstone.
Beau’s mother, Bek Eddy, said he mistook the bite for a scratch.
He was rushed to Gladstone Hospital and was later flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, where he tragically passed away.
