Driver taken to hospital after cow and truck collide, truck rolls on Capricorn Hwy

A driver has been taken to hospital after a cow and truck collided, causing the truck to roll on a Central Qld highway.

A truck driver has been taken to hospital after hitting a cow on the Capricorn Highway at Bluff, two hours west of Rockhampton.

The driver was the only person in the truck when the crash occurred just before 11.30pm on Monday, July 7, according to a Queensland Police Service spokeswoman.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said no one was entrapped in the prime mover.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the male driver in his 40s was assessed for shoulder and back injuries as well as lacerations.

He was taken to Blackwater Multipurpose Health Service in a stable condition.
