After being open for only three years, Yeppoon Central Lotto and News owner Lisa White feels her store is a lucky one after the Capricorn Coast saw another lottery win at the weekend, with 10 locals sharing a $2.5 million prize.

The locals were part of a 10-share store syndicate that held one of the four division one winning entries in the Saturday Gold Lotto draw.

In addition to winning division one, the syndicate’s winning System 9 entry also won division three 18 times, division four 45 times and division six 20 times, bolstering the group’s total win to $2,516,656.50.

Each member of the Yeppoon syndicate took home a prize worth $251,667.69.

So far this year, four major lottery wins have hailed from Yeppoon, including division one wins for Set for Life and Saturday Gold Lotto, worth more than $8.3 million.

Those wins include a Yeppoon woman who held the only division one winning entry in Set for Life drawn on June 12, which was $4.8 million, paid in monthly instalments of $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.

An Emu Park couple held one of nine division one winning entries in the Saturday Gold Lotto on June 15, pocketing $541,052.71.

A Yeppoon man also held one of 21 division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto on July 27, pocketing $952,380.96.

Shares into the winning syndicate were purchased at Yeppoon Central Lotto and News, Shop 28, Yeppoon Central Shopping Centre, Yeppoon.

Ms White said she couldn’t believe another division one win had landed in her store.

“Just over a month ago, we sold a share into a division one winning syndicate, and now we’ve sold a division one winning syndicate,” she said.

“We’ve only been open for three years and feel our store is a lucky one. We’ve now sold three major prize-winning tickets, including these two syndicates and one top prize-winning Instant Scratch-Its.

“We’ve already received a message from one of the winners and they said it has changed their lives.

“We strive to change our customers’ lives, and we are so happy that we have done it for 10 of them.”

While some of the winning syndicate members held registered entries and have been notified of their win, The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said some of the winning group might still be unaware of their good fortune.

“We’ve been reaching out to those syndicate members who registered their tickets to their player card or online account. However, some of the syndicate members held unregistered entries and may not yet know they’re part of this winning group,” he said.

“If you purchased a share into a store syndicate from Yeppoon for the recent Saturday Gold Lotto draw, today’s the day to check it.” Players can check their tickets in-store, online via thelott.com or via The Lott app.

“If you discover you’re holding a winning syndicate share, call The Lott on 131 868 to start the prize claim process.

“This is also an important reminder for players to register their lottery tickets to a player card or online account, so if they are to score division one, we can reach out to them straight after the draw.”

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw on September 7 were 16, 38, 7, 15, 20 and 13, while the supplementary numbers were 26 and 41.

Across Australia, there were four division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4501 – two each from Queensland and Victoria.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 306 so far in 2024.
