Cases rise: 214 new Covid positives for Central Queensland

The Rockhampton area has recorded the highest number of new Covid cases in the past 24 hours with Gladstone not far behind, the latest health statistics reveal. See the full breakdown of new case numbers here.

Central Queensland’s Covid case numbers continue to rise with 214 new positives recorded in the 24 hours to noon on Sunday.

The latest figures released by Queensland Health show that the Rockhampton area has recorded the highest number of new Covid cases (82) during that period with Gladstone not far behind (60).

In the Central Highlands area there were 32 new Covid cases in the past 24 hours, while Livingstone recorded a similar jump with 27 new positives.

There were 12 new Covid cases recorded in the Banana Shire and one case was specified for the “other” category area of Central Queensland.

As of noon on Sunday, five Covid patients were in Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition.
