Two cyclists taken to hospital after Rockhampton velodrome crash

Paramedics were called to a North Rockhampton velodrome on Saturday night after two cyclists were involved in a crash.

Queensland Ambulance Service was dispatched to the Kenrick Tucker Velodrome, off Berserker Street, after receiving a call about the incident at 10.11pm.

The velodrome hosted the 2022 Rockhampton Cup on Wheels event on Friday and Saturday.

A QAS spokesman said a woman in her 40s suffered a minor head injury in Saturday night’s incident and the other rider, an adult whose age was not known, sustained minor neck injuries.

Both riders were taken to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition.
