Queensland Treasurer announces record surplus of $12.3 billion

Queensland is set to start implementing a record-breaking $89 billion capital infrastructure program over the next four years, as the state turns towards renewable energy and future proofing projects.

Regions will benefit most from the mammoth fund, securing more than 65 per cent of the cash pool for projects which are expected to support 38,500 local jobs.

While various schools, hospitals and roads will receive critical upgrades, more than $13 billion has been put towards projects outside of the Greater Brisbane region to support regional energy and water access.

Treasurer Cameron Dick on Wednesday confirmed $7 billion had been set aside for the Borumba dam pumped hydro energy station project, south of Gympie, following two years of planning.

Burdekin Dam, the largest dam in Queensland about 100km south of Charters Towers, received $440m to complete height upgrades while $550m was put towards the completion of a major water pipeline connecting Fitzroy and Gladstone.

Every project included in the 2023-24 State Budget

BRISBANE AND REDLANDS:

■ Bracken Ridge State High School – $6 million in 2023-24 to construct a new building for additional learning spaces.

■ Taigum State School -$8.1 million in 2023-24 out of a $10.9 million total expenditure to construct a new building for additional learning spaces.

■ Lytton Fuel Import Terminal -l $5 million in 2023-24 out of a $57.2 million total expenditure for new fuel storage tanks, a marine loading arm and pipelines to support diesel storage. Part of the Building Acceleration Fund, delivered in partnership with the private sector.

■ Oakleigh State School – $5 million in 2023-24 out of a $8.1 million total expenditure for a new hall.

■ The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in Brisbane – $42.1 million in 2023-24 out of a $762.9 million total expenditure for the construction of a new cancer centre, consolidating existing and expanded new cancer care services, and lift and escalator compliance upgrades.

■ Darling Point Special School – $13.6 million in 2023-24 out of a $24.2 million total expenditure to construct a new building for additional learning spaces.

■ Manly State School – $9.6 million in 2023-24 out of a $10.1 million total spend to construct a new building for additional learning spaces.

■ Cross River Rail project – $829.2 million in 2023-24.

■ Defence Cooperative Research Centre – $9.5 million in 2023-24 out of a $65 million total expenditure for establishment and operation of the Defence Cooperative Research Centre for Trusted Autonomous Systems in Queensland.

■ Indigenous Land and Sea Ranger Program – $239,235 in 2023-24 to protect environmental and Indigenous cultural heritage values on North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah).

■ Sanofi Translational Science Hub – $18 million in 2023-24 out of a $280 million total spend to support the establishment of Sanofi ’s Translational Science Hub to catalyse the growth of the Queensland biomedical ecosystem.

■ The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane – $34.6 million in 2023-24 out of a $391.9 million total spend for the expansion of the hospital, including the delivery of a new Acute Service Building above the existing emergency department.

■ Quandamooka Art Museum and Performance Institute – $11.2 million in 2023-24 out of a $17 million total expenditure for a regional-equivalent gallery, museum, performance and event hosting centre on Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island).

■ Kenmore State High School – $6.5 million in 2023-24 to construct additional specialist classrooms.

■ Yeronga Child and Youth Community Hub – $4.4 million in 2023-24 out of a $7.8 million total expenditure for the establishment of a new integrated Child and Youth Community Health Hub to provide appropriate integrated child, youth and family services.

■ Centenary Bridge Upgrade – $50 million in 2023-24 out of a $271.5 million total spend towards upgrading the Centenary Bridge at Jindalee.

■ Holland Park State High School – $10.6 million in 2023-24 out of a $15.7 million total spend to construct additional specialist classrooms.

■ Capalaba State College – $7.7 million in 2023-24 out of a $12.8 million total expenditure for a new hall.

■ Redland Hospital – $8 million in 2023-24 out of a $150 million total expenditure for the replacement of the Mental Health unit at Redland Hospital, increasing capacity by 20 beds and bringing the total in the unit to 43 beds.

■ Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital- $48.4 million in 2023-24 out of a $533.8 million total expenditure for construction of a new clinical services building, modular inpatient unit and multistorey carpark.

■ Eight Mile Plains Satellite Hospital – $78.9 million in 2023-24 out of a $376.9 million total program spend to deliver 7 satellite hospitals that will each include a Minor Injury and Illness Clinic and various specialty outpatients services.

■ Pallara State School – $14.4 million in 2023-24 out of a $15.8 million total expenditure to construct a new 3-storey factory-built learning centre with 12 classrooms.

■ New primary school in Redland Bay – $21.7 million in 2023-24 out of a $68.1 million total expenditure.

CENTRAL QUEENSLAND:

■ Great Keppel Island Rejuvenation Pilot – $9.2 million in 2023-24 out of a $30 million total expenditure to deliver common-user infrastructure to stimulate tourism development on Great Keppel Island and throughout the region.

■ Rockhampton – Yeppoon Road, Yeppoon Road upgrade – $19.5 million in 2023-24 out of a $85.4 million total expenditure.

■ North Rockhampton Ambulance Station – $11 million in 2023-24 out of a $12.2 million total expenditure for the replacement of the existing ambulance station to support the delivery of pre-hospital ambulance responses services.

■ Rockhampton Ring Road – $100 million in 2023-24 out of a $1.065 billion total expenditure towards the Rockhampton Ring Road project, including funding in the forward estimates for early works.

■ The Hall State School – $10 million in 2023-24 out of a $12.6 million total expenditure for a new hall.

■ Rockhampton Hospital – $2.7 million in 2023-24 out of a $35.8 million total expenditure for the delivery of a cardiac hybrid theatre and the refurbishment and expansion of the mental health ward.

■ Mount Morgan Pipeline – $10.8 million in 2023-24 out of a $40.4 million total expenditure to construct a pipeline from Gracemere to Mount Morgan to provide a reliable water supply for the community and support future growth and development.

■ Rockhampton Special School – $8.8 million in 2023-24 out of a $9.5 million total spend to construct a new building for additional learning spaces.

■ CoWork Capability Centre: Digitally Connected Central Highlands – $1 million in 2023-24 out of a $3.7 million total expenditure to deliver a digitally capable collaborative workspace to increase access to social services, training, skill, knowledge and technology across multiple sectors.

■ Emerald Kart Club Track lighting project – $900,000 in 2023-24 out of a $991,300 total expenditure to install lighting at the Emerald Kart Club to facilitate night time club and community activities.

■ Emerald permanent and auxiliary fire and rescue station works – $400,000 in 2023-24 to complete upgrade works at the permanent and auxiliary fire and rescue station at Emerald.

■ Royal Flying Doctor Service Patient Transfer hub – Emerald $500,000 in 2023-24 out of a $695,000 total expenditure to deliver a new patient transfer hub at Emerald Airport for the RFDS.

■ Mount Morgan Aquatic Centre Project – $1 million in 2023-24 out of a $4.5 million total expenditure to redevelop the existing Mount Morgan Pool with a modern aquatic centre.

■ Wind farm investments in Central Queensland – $208 million in 2023-24 out of a $1.113 billion total expenditure for CS Energy to invest in wind farms in Central Queensland.

■ Gladstone Port initiatives – $115.4 million in 2023-24 for upgrades at the Gladstone Port, including investment in Ship Loader 1 at the RG Tanna Coal Terminal, port services and Auckland Point projects.

■ Gladstone State High School $11.5 million in 2023-24 out of a $13 million total expenditure to construct additional specialist classrooms.

■ Indigenous Land and Sea Ranger Program $557,479 in 2023-24 to protect environmental and Indigenous cultural heritage values in Woorabinda.

■ Future proofing power generation on Lady Elliot Island – $135,304 for installation of 40 new lithium-phosphate batteries in aluminium weather-protective cabinets, to replace 24 gel lead acid batteries on Lady Elliot Island.

■ Springsure Aquatic Centre renewal and upgrade – $1 million in 2023-24 out of a $5 million total expenditure to upgrade the Springsure Aquatic Centre to provide a new and improved experience for visitors.

■ Woorabinda Multi-Purpose Health Service – $9.8 million in 2023-24 out of a $17.2 million total expenditure for the replacement of the existing centre and the delivery of a new accommodation building that will provide an additional 10 beds.

■ Biloela Splash Park and Playground – $1 million in 2023-24 out of a $2.7 million total spend to deliver a new splash park and playground for the Biloela community.

■ Moura Library and Museum – $2 million in 2023-24 out of a $6 million total expenditure to deliver a new library, a museum integrated with the Moura Miners’ Memorial, and a community services hub. 

DARLING DOWNS:

■ Injune Multi-Purpose Health Service – $710,000 in 2023-24 out of a $1.7 million total spend to extend the Aged Care Wing to support additional aged care beds.

■ Roma Flood Mitigation Project – Stage 2 – $245,000 in 2023-24 out of a $8.3 million total expenditure to add flood mitigation measures and provide a greater resilience against future flood events for the Roma community.

■ Westhaven Aged Care Centre – $1.8 million in 2023-24 out of a $2.7 million total spend for the upgrade of the heating, ventilation and airconditioning systems and standby emergency generator.

■ Indigenous Land and Sea Ranger Program – $507,171 in 2023-24 to protect environmental and Indigenous cultural heritage values in the Bunya Mountains.

■ Brigalow hydrogen ready gas peaking plant – $33.4 million in 2023-24 out of a $190 million total investment in Queensland’s fist hydrogen-ready gas peaking plant.

■ Kogan Creek Power Station enhancements, overhauls and refurbishment – $20.1 million in 2023-24 for enhancement and refurbishment to ensure the plant’s long-term reliability and safety.

■ Kogan Renewable Hydrogen Project – $1.1 million in 2023-24 out of a $15 million total expenditure for construction of a renewable hydrogen demonstration plant and refuelling station at the Kogan Creek Clean Energy Hub in the Western Downs.

■ Kogan North Gas Fields development – $29.6 million in 2023-24 for the development and maintenance of gas assets to support firming in the transformation of the energy system.

■ Tara Hospital – $9.4 million in 2023-24 out of a $16.3 million total expenditure for the replacement of ageing infrastructure using standardised design to deliver a safe, compliant and contemporary environment.

■ InterLinkSQ Intermodal Terminal – $16.1 million in 2023-24 for delivery of a new road and rail intermodal terminal to improve productivity in the transfer of freight between trucks and trains, supporting industry.

■ Gatton Smart Farm – $2.6 million in 2023-24 out of a $9.1 million total expenditure to upgrade infrastructure and equipment to support horticulture productivity and profitability.

■ Drayton replacement permanent and auxiliary fire and rescue station – $2.4 million in 2023-24 out of a $7.5 million total expenditure to continue replacement of the permanent and auxiliary fire and rescue station at Drayton.

■ Toowoomba to Warwick Pipeline – $13.4 million in 2023-24 out of a $273.1 million total expenditure to construct the Toowoomba to Warwick Pipeline to supply water to the residents of Cambooya, Greenmount, Nobby and Clifton and provide a drought contingency for Warwick and surrounding communities.

■ Pittsworth State High School – $5.7 million in 2023-24 out of a $9.2 million total expenditure to construct additional specialist classrooms and for a new hall.

■ Gore Highway (Toowoomba-Millmerran) and Toowoomba Athol Road – $1 million in 2023-24 out of a $23.4 million total expenditure towards improving safety on the Gore Highway (Toowoomba – Millmerran) and Toowoomba – Athol Road.

■ St George Hospital – $10.1 million in 2023-24 out of a $16.5 million total expenditure for the replacement of infrastructure to deliver a safe, compliant and contemporary environment.

■ Warwick State High School – $5.6 million in 2023-24 out of a $8.9 million total expenditure for a new hall.

■ Whetstone Rural Fire Brigade station – $450,000 in 2023-24 to upgrade Whetstone rural fire brigade station.

■ Goondiwindi Hospital – $3.6 million in 2023-24 out of a $8.7 million total expenditure for the remediation of the heating, ventilation and airconditioning systems and main switchboard replacement.

■ Inglewood Reservoir roof replacement – $277,200 in 2023-24 out of a $420,000 total spend to replace the roof on the Inglewood treated drinking water reservoir.

■ Dirranbandi P-10 State School – $405,000 in 2023-24 out of a $808,000 total expenditure to refurbish a science room, 2 classrooms and a staffroom.

■ Girraween National Park visitor amenities upgrade – $1.6 million in 2023-24 out of a $7.9 million total expenditure for redevelopment of day use and camping areas at Girraween National Park near Stanthorpe.

■ Mungindi Multi-Purpose Health Service – $1 million in 2023-24 out of a $2.4 million total expenditure for the reconfiguration of existing residence and redundant medical practice buildings.

FAR NORTH QLD:

■ Mer (Murray) Island Primary Health Care Centre – $1.7 million in 2023-24 out of a $8.8 million total expenditure for the replacement of the existing Primary Health Care Centre to support the provision of quality and safe services for current and future healthcare needs.

■ Torres Strait Islands community fuel resource upgrade – $752,400 in 2023-24 out of a $1.1 million total expenditure for the Multi-Island Fuel Infrastructure Replacement Project to ensure remote communities have safe and sustainable access to reliable diesel and petrol.

■ Horn Island passenger jetty and wharf upgrade – $6 million in 2023-24 out of a $8.5 million total expenditure for the upgrade of the Horn Island passenger jetty and wharf head.

■ Horn Island affordable housing project – $672,757 in 2023-24 out of a $961,057 total spend to expand the Horn Island affordable housing project to provide safe, affordable housing opportunities for Indigenous homebuyers.

■ Bamaga Hospital – $3 million in 2023-24 out of a $3.8 million total expenditure for the rectification and replacement of end of life non-compliant hydraulic pipelines.

■ Cullen Point Campground and Mission Site development – $1 million in 2023-24 out of a 2.9 million total expenditure to upgrade and expand the Cullen Point Campground in Mapoon and develop a historical interpretation walk of the mission village sites in the old Mapoon Precinct.

■ Western Cape College – Weipa – $10.3 million in 2023-24 out of a $11 million total spend to construct a new building for additional learning spaces.

■ Coen Airport amenities upgrade $100,000 in 2023-24 out of a $1.4 million total expenditure to upgrade community infrastructure at the Coen Airport.

■ Indigenous Land and Sea Ranger Program – $450,327 in 2023-24 to protect environmental and Indigenous cultural heritage values in Mareeba and Palmerville Station.

■ Splash Parks for Port Douglas and Mossman – $900,000 in 2023-24 out of a $1.5 million total expenditure for construction of a splash park in Port Douglas and a splash play area in Mossman at the existing pool site.

■ Wangetti Trail – $10.4 million in 2023-24 out of a $47.1 million total expenditure for the construction of a 94km walking and mountain biking trail from Palm Cove to Port Douglas, with public and ecoaccommodation amenities.

■ Barron Gorge Hydro Maintenance – $3.3 million in 2023-24 for the maintenance of existing assets including major valve work and the control system.

■ Captain Cook Highway, Cairns CBD to Smithfield, upgrade – $6 million in 2023-24 out of a $359 million total expenditure towards upgrades of the Captain Cook Highway between Cairns and Smithfield.

■ Cairns Western Arterial Road, Redlynch Connector Road to Captain Cook Highway – $30.9 million in 2023-24 out of a $300 million total expenditure towards the duplication of the Cairns Western Arterial Road between Redlynch Connector Road and the Captain Cook Highway.

■ Cairns Safer Streets and Midnight Basketball – $750,000 in 2023-24 out of a $1.5 million total expenditure to support the Cairns Safer Streets and midnight basketball program to engage young people and minimise the risk of anti-social behaviour.

■ Cairns police station upgrade – $1.4 million in 2023-24 out of a $20 million total expenditure to complete the upgrade of the police station in Cairns.

■ Great Barrier Reef International Marine College – $8 million in 2023-24 out of a $16 million total expenditure to expand TAFE Queensland’s Great Barrier Reef International Marine College, which will include construction of a new workshop, additional classrooms, staff amenities and a boat shed.

■ Woree State School – $5.9 million in 2023-24 out of a $6.7 million total expenditure for a new hall.

■ Bruce Highway, Cairns Southern Access Corridor (Stage 5), Foster Road – $1.1 million in 2023-24 out of a $225 million total expenditure towards upgrading the intersection of Foster Road and the Bruce Highway.

■ Gordonvale State High School – $754,000 in 2023-24 to build additional specialist classrooms.

■ Atherton Hospital – $7.1 million in 2023-24 out of a $86.4 million total expenditure for the redevelopment of the existing hospital, including a new clinical services building and community allied and mental health building.

GOLD COAST:

■ Pimpama Ambulance Station – $100,000 in 2023-24 out of a $5.5 million total expenditure to redevelop the station to provide fit-for-purpose, efficient and modern accommodation to support the delivery of pre-hospital ambulance services.

■ Gainsborough State School – $1.8 million in 2023-24 out of a $55.3 million total spend to construct Gainsborough State School.

■ Coomera State Special School – $18.9 million in 2023-24 out of a $50.9 million total spend to construct Coomera State Special School.

■ Coombabah State High School – $1.8 million in 2023-24 out of a $14.3 million total spend to construct a new building for additional learning spaces.

■ Coomera Connector (Stage 1), Coomera to Nerang – $420 million in 2023-24 out of a 2.163 billion total expenditure towards the Coomera Connector (Stage 1), between Coomera and Nerang.

■ Delivered in partnership with the Australian Government. Butterfly Sanctuary and Glow Worm Breeding Project – $400,000 in 2023-24 out of a $800,000 total expenditure for construction of a fully enclosed butterfly sanctuary for native and endangered butterflies and enhancement of the glow worm conservation program.

■ Indigenous Land and Sea Ranger Program – $462,863 in 2023-24 to protect environmental and Indigenous cultural heritage values on the Gold Coast.

■ The Spit Master Plan Implementation Program – $9.2 million in 2023-24 out of a $60 million total expenditure for implementation of The Spit Master Plan to deliver capital works projects transforming The Spit, Gold Coast’s public realm.

■ Gold Coast University Hospital – $105.6 million in 2023-24 out of a $200.8 million total expenditure to deliver a Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit and a four-storey ward building to provide additional inpatient capacity.

■ Gold Coast Parklands Health and Knowledge Precinct – $3.4 million in 2023-24 out of a $41.7 million total expenditure to continue development of a health and knowledge precinct within the Parklands Priority Development Area.

■ Southport Health Precinct – $10.9 million in 2023-24 out of a $12.5 million total expenditure for the replacement of the existing chillers, fan coil units, air handling units, insulation, piping and upgrade building management systems.

■ Keebra Park State High School – $3.3 million in 2023-24 out of a $11.3 million total spend to construct additional specialist classrooms.

■ Nerang State High School – $4 million in 2023-24 out of a $5 million total expenditure to upgrade the hall.

■ Safer Schoolies – Gold Coast – $2.3 million in 2023-24 to deliver a safer Schoolies, including beach hub, support services, medical and volunteer support.

■ Project DAM 2024 – $387,500 in 2023-24 out of a $775,000 total expenditure for the expansion of Swell Festival, an 11-day inaugural sculptural exhibition of temporary public artworks and public art programming around the Hinze Dam.

■ Lower Beechmont Community Centre – $535,262 in 2023-24 out of a $1.5 million total expenditure to construct a new community space to provide a safe haven assembly area in times of disaster.

■ Miami State High School – $5.2 million in 2023-24 out of a $12 million total expenditure to deliver a new double court multipurpose hall, 3 classrooms, kinesiology lab, staff work rooms, store rooms, amenities and kiosk.

■ Pacific Motorway, Varsity Lakes (Exit 85) to Tugun (Exit 95) upgrade – $190 million in 2023-24 out of a $1 billion total expenditure towards upgrading the Pacific Motorway (M1) between Varsity Lakes and Tugun.

■ Palm Beach Community Health Centre – $3.5 million in 2023-24 out of a $4.8 million total expenditure for the compliance replacement of the existing chillers, airconditioning units, duct work, diff users, pumps, piping and related components.

■ Palm Beach-Currumbin State High School – $1 million in 2023-24 out of a $10.9 million total expenditure for a new hall.

■ Currumbin Beach Vikings Surf Club upgrade – $100,000 in 2023-24 out of a $2 million total expenditure to replace the existing clubhouse with a new clubhouse including disability access on the ground floor, at the Nippers clubhouse.

■ Wildlife management – supporting Currumbin Wildlife Hospital – $1 million in 2023-24 to support the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation providing care to sick and injured wildlife.

■ Gold Coast Satellite Hospital – $78.9 million in 2023-24 out of a $376.9 million total spend to deliver seven satellite hospitals that will each include a minor injury and illness clinic and various specialty outpatients services.

IPSWICH:

■ Toogoolawah State High School – $5.4 million in 2023-24 out of a $8.6 million total spend for a new hall.

■ Coominya Connection Road, Buaraba Creek, replace timber bridge – $6 million in 2023-24 out of a $12 million total expenditure towards replacing the timber bridge over Buaraba Creek on Coominya Connection Road.

■ Lowood Pool – Safe and Fun for Everyone Project – $690,869 in 2023-24 out of a $2 million total expenditure to upgrade the public pool in the Lowood area.

■ Southern Queensland Correctional Precinct – Stage 2 – $341 million in 2023-24 out of a $861 million total expenditure to continue with the construction of the new 1,500 bed section commenced in early 2021, with construction of the main buildings currently underway.

■ Brisbane Valley Highway (Ipswich – Harlin), Warrego Highway to Fernvale, improve safety – $4.2 million in 2023-24 out of a $14.4 million total expenditure towards safety improvements on the Brisbane Valley Highway between Warrego Highway and Fernvale.

■ Mount Crosby Flood Resilience Program – $24.3 million in 2023-24 out of a $128.4 million total expenditure to improve the flood resilience of critical bulk water infrastructure at Mount Crosby.

■ Darra State School – $11.5 million in 2023-24 out of a $12 million total expenditure to construct a new building for additional learning spaces.

■ Wildlife management – supporting the RSPCA – $1 million in 2023-24 to support the RSPCA provide care to sick and injured wildlife.

■ Ipswich State High School – $11 million in 2023-24 out of a $28.1 million total expenditure to construct a new building for additional learning spaces.

■ Serviceton South State School – $5.7 million in 2023-24 out of a $7.6 million total spend to construct a new building for additional learning spaces.

■ Goodna Special School – $1.3 million in 2023-24 out of a $21.7 million total expenditure to construct a new building for additional learning spaces.

■ Swanbank E Power Station – $11.5 million in 2023-24 for the maintenance of existing assets including the gas turbine and site reconfiguration works.

■ Ripley Ambulance Station – $7.3 million in 2023-24 out of a $10.9 million total expenditure to deliver the new Ambulance Station to support the delivery of pre-hospital ambulance responses services as part of improved health services.

■ Woogaroo Creek State School – $9.8 million in 2023-24 out of a $82 million total spend to construct Woogaroo Creek State School.

■ Greater Springfield new permanent fire and rescue station – $2.5 million in 2023-24 out of a 10 million total expenditure to continue development of a new permanent fire and rescue station at Greater Springfield.

■ Ripley Central State School – $11.1 million in 2023-24 out of a $73.1 million total spend to construct Ripley Central State School.

■ Ripley new police station – $5 million in 2023-24 out of a $25 million total expenditure continuing to construct the new police building in Ripley.

■ Spring Mountain State School – $23.6 million in 2023-24 out of a $24.7 million total spend to construct a new building for additional learning spaces.

■ Ripley Valley Priority Development Area infrastructure – $8.5 million in 2023-24 out of a $45 million total expenditure for catalyst infrastructure within the Ripley Valley Priority Development Area.

■ Ripley Valley State Secondary College – $14.5 million in 2023-24 out of a $18.7 million total expenditure to construct Stage 2 of the school.

■ Hervey Bay replacement water police station – $200,000 in 2023-24 out of a $3.8 million total expenditure to continue the replacement of the water police station in Hervey Bay.

■ Urangan Point State School – $1.8 million in 2023-24 out of a $5.8 million total expenditure for a new hall.

■ Hervey Bay Aquatic Centre Master Plan Implementation Stage 1 – $2.3 million in 2023-24 out of a $3.6 million total expenditure for a 25 metre pool redevelopment, splash pool construction and installation of plant for a 50 metre pool.

■ Rebuild Pialba Substation – $13.2 million in 2023-24 out of a $19.8 million total expenditure to rebuild the Pialba substation.

■ Indigenous Land and Sea Ranger Program – $471,421 in 2023-24 to protect environmental and Indigenous cultural heritage values in Hervey Bay and K’gari (Fraser Island).

■ K’gari Central Station area upgrade – $2.9 million in 2023-24 out of a $9.2 million total spend for a major capital upgrade of Central Station day use area on K’gari.

■ Maryborough area brigade headquarters – $3.5 million in 2023-24 out of a $4 million total expenditure to complete development of Maryborough area brigade headquarters.

■ Bruce Highway (Gympie – Maryborough), Tiaro Bypass, construct four lane bypass – $8 million in 2023-24 out of a $336 million total expenditure towards construction of the four lane Tiaro bypass.

■ Kilkivan substation replacement – $10.8 million in 2023-24 out of a $33.7 million total spend to carry out substation refurbishment works at Kilkivan substation to improve network performance.

■ James Nash State High School – $2.1 million in 2023-24 out of a $2.2 million total spend to construct additional specialist classrooms.

■ One Mile State School – $2 million in 2023-24 to upgrade an existing amenities block. ■ Gympie South replacement permanent fire and rescue station – $2.4 million in 2023-24 out of a $7.5 million total expenditure to continue delivery of a replacement permanent Gympie South Fire and Rescue Station.

■ Imbil Auxiliary fire and rescue station upgrade and refurbishment – $1.9 million in 2023-24 to upgrade and refurbish the auxiliary fire and rescue station at Imbil.

■ Borumba Pumped Hydro Energy Storage – $183.7 million in 2023-24 out of a $14.159 billion total expenditure for detailed design and exploratory works for the Borumba Pumped Hydro project.

■ Tarong West Wind Farm – $200 million in 2023-24 for the development of the 500 megawatt Tarong West Wind Farm near Kingaroy, to be Australia’s largest publicly owned wind farm.

■ Southern Renewable Energy Zone Battery Storage – $183.2 million in 2023-24 out of a 269.1 million total expenditure for Stanwell to build, own, and operate a 150 megawatt battery near Tarong Power Station to provide energy storage capacity.

■ Meandu Mine development, mine fleet and other minor works – $29.5 million in 2023-24 to replace and refurbish handling equipment and infrastructure at Meandu Mine.

■ Bunya Mountains National Park visitor amenities upgrade – $1 million in 2023-24 out of a $5.5 million total expenditure to upgrade visitor infrastructure in the Bunya Mountains National Park.
