Skaters have been stopped in their tracks after sand was dumped at a Sunshine Coast Skate Park as a way of deterring users.

NOOSA skaters have been stopped in their tracks after sand was dumped on the Peregian Beach Skate Park as a way of deterring users.

Noosa Council's Communications Manager Ken Furdek advised Council had laid sand at five Skate Parks across t region to deter users from the area amid the COVID-19 restrictions.

"People are not adhering to the restrictions," he said.

"They are just ignoring the signage.

"This is a more effective way to compliance."

The five skate parks to be sanded include Peregian, Cooroy, Pomona, Cooran and Tewantin
