‘Never going back’: What tourists are saying about Noosa

GOODS, BADS and UGLIES: Noosa tourists give their honest feedback.

THEY say you will never keep everyone happy no matter how hard you try.

It seems no truer words were spoken when it comes to world-famous coastal towns.

We've scanned the world-wide-web and read thousands of reviews from tourists who have visited our neck of the woods.

For the majority of out-of-towners, they only had praise for the Noosa region and its expansive beaches, national parks, world-renowned events, majestic cliffs, lush forests and amazing hinterland.

But it seems the unimpressed minority scream the loudest.

 

Noosa Main Beach

NEW YEAR'S DAY: Noosa Main Beach was a sight of umbrellas and happy beach goers on January 1.

72 per cent of Trip Advisor reviews said they had an 'excellent' time when they visited Noosa Main Beach.

Like this Melbourne family, who had a memorable day on the beach.

"We decided to head to Noosa Heads Main Beach for the afternoon and ended up staying until 7pm," they said.

"The beach was crowded but the water was warm and clear and the waves dumped us many a times."

"We had so much fun and enjoyed our time there very much."

Sadly, this Brisbane visitor wasn't as impressed and they weren't backwards in coming forwards.

"I haven't been to Noosa for years and I'll never be going back," they said.

"I recently drove there for a swim with my family and could see the beaches are as beautiful as ever but turned around and came home as you can't park anywhere.

"I mean the beaches were busy but not crowded, it seem like all the parking is being taken by rich snobs drinking designer coffee instead of people enjoying the beach.

This Darwin guest visited Noosa in the school holidays, well that's what was the on the cards anyway.

"We had planned for a swim, some lunch and a bit of a shopping excursion. We got there around 11am and then spent 45 minutes driving aimlessly looking for a park," They said.

"Poor council planning in my view for such a busy tourist destination.

"We gave up and therefore Noosa lost our tourist dollars."

 

Eumundi Markets

A visit to the Noosa region would not be complete without spending some time at the infamous Eumundi markets.

This Cardiff (United Kingdom) visitor certainly thought so.

"It's not your usual cheap market, but much more exclusive stalls, many selling handcrafted goods," they said.

"A really good way to spend an hour or two. Highly recommended."

Sadly, this Rockhampton visitor didn't have the same experience.

"We spent 50 minutes in traffic and couldn't get a park anywhere," they said.

"We just drove back to Mooloolaba without even getting out of the car. I feel sorry for the residents here."

One particularly thrifty Maryborough visitor enjoyed their day at the markets, but baulked at some of the price tags.

"I enjoyed these markets, however, you need a big cheque book to shop here," they said.

"They are very up-market. Would not go back again, been there once no need to go again.

"They need more food places to eat."

This Melbourne visitor reminded other Noosa guests that the markets weren't the only popular Eumundi tourist destination.

"So you're going to visit Eumundi, and have probably seen all the advertising for the famous and long-established market," they said.

"Well yes, it's quite nice, but what made the day for us was our visit to the Eumundi Brewery, located in the Imperial Hotel."

A New Zealand family recommended the picturesque Tewantin National Park to other families after their memorable day here.

"This absolute beauty is a place we think is like paradise," they said.

"Pick a day not too hot and do this park it is full of gorgeous trees plants and easy walking to relieve the stress of a day if working."

"If on holiday then you have all the time in the world and it is a must see."
