IF YOU love coffee then get yourself along to Noosa Junction for this year's JAVA Fest on July 27.
This annual coffee festival is a perfect opportunity to go crazy for coffee and feed that caffeine addiction.
With free workshops you can learn tips and tricks in the morning before you bar hop along the Espresso Martini Trail from 4pm.
Noosa Junction Association President Michael Tozer said the Junction Java Fest offered a great reason to visit the precinct and indulge in their coffee culture.
"It's a day to celebrate Noosa Junction's diversity of restaurants, cafes and bars,” Mr Tozer said. Water Pistols Surfboard Studio will be part of the festival and Ryan Campbell said the event will be a great chance expand your coffee knowledge.
"It should be a fun day, there are a lot of cool venues in the Junction and they are all showing something unique,” Mr Campbell said.
"Coffee is pretty unique, I can't function without it and I know a lot of people are the same.
"It will be good to taste different types of coffee, everyone's got their different taste so it will be good to sample the different flavours the Junction has to offer as well as just little tips and tricks on how to make a better coffee.”
Seven Junction venues have joined forces with their roasters for the workshops with 11 venues to be part of the martini trail.
Workshops will give you a chance to sip, sample and learn techniques like latte art, heating and foaming, alternative brewing methods, the secrets behind the 'just right' iced latte, the fundamentals to single origin brewing, five ways to roast and the journey from nitro espresso to martinis.
The cocktail menu will have tempting choices from traditional to dessert themed, with flavours inspired by choc-cherry bars, Mexican caramel, butterscotch, coconut, house-infused tequilas, chocolate, sticky date, vanilla and hazelnut.
The festival will aim to be a sustainable event and organisers encourage coffee-drinkers to think about the environment and bring re-usable cups.
"Many Junction foodies are reducing their plastic footprint and eliminating single use plastic. Keep cups are a great way to do your bit for the environment,” Mr Tozer said.
"It is estimated Australians use one billion disposable coffee cups each year. Over a year, using a keep cup reduces greenhouse gas emissions by up to 92 per cent compared to disposable cups. We can all contribute to a greener future.”
The day begins at 8am with limited workshop places available. Free registration essential on the Eventbrite Junction JAVA Fest page. Visit www.noosajunction.org for information. and a program of the day.
