A 20-year-old has been charged with a serious domestic violence offence after an older man was rushed to hospital with serious head injuries in a suburb west of Brisbane earlier this week.

A young Ipswich man has been charged with a serious domestic violence offence after he allegedly sent another man to hospital with serious head injuries earlier this week.
Ipswich police charged a 20-year-old with grievous bodily harm following an alleged assault on Thursday, December 14.
Police will allege an altercation occurred between two men at a Bulmer Street property in Bellbird Park around 6.30pm.
During the incident, a 46-year-old Bellbird Park man was allegedly struck in the head, causing him to fall to the ground.
He was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.
A police spokesman said they are currently providing support to the man’s family, while he still remains in serious condition.
“The family would like to thank the community for their support and request privacy at this time,” the spokesman said.
A 20-year-old Bellbird Park man was charged with grievous bodily harm (DV).
He is due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday, December 18.
Investigators are appealing anyone with information to come forward.
Earlier, paramedics took a man in a critical condition to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with a serious head injury.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics arrived to the scene at 6.26pm, following reports of an assault occasioning bodily home at a private Bellbird Park address on Thursday.
“The incident is domestic violence related,” she said.
Police said they were treating the incident as domestic violence.
