A 24-year-old man has died after a crash involving an allegedly stolen ute closed the Bruce Highway for several hours at Ogmore, near Rockhampton, on Sunday night.

Joshua Brown was transported to Rockhampton Base Hospital in a critical condition following the crash involving a Toyota HiLux, while two 20-year-old men, including the man police allege was driving, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Court documents reveal that a man was ejected through the front passenger window after the vehicle crashed into a rock escarpment.

“The escarpment gouging and shedding of vehicle components continued for 51 metres to where the HiLux has come to a rest,” the document said.

A 20-year-old Moura man, William Noel Armstrong, was on Sunday charged with dangerous driving and causing grievous bodily harm, as well as charges relating to an earlier alleged robbery.
