Man critical after single-vehicle crash on Warrego Highway near Toowoomba
Police are looking at fatigue as a factor in single-vehicle crash that put a Western Downs man in a critical condition.

A 47-year-old Western Downs tradesman was flown to Brisbane hospital after he suffered critical head and chest injuries in a single-vehicle crash at Kingsthorpe overnight.
The Perth-based fly-in-fly-out worker’s condition has stabilised, however he remains in a critical condition.
Emergency services were called to scene near the intersection of the Warrego Highway near the Gowrie Mountain School Rd off-ramp about 8.20pm on Tuesday.
They found the driver, the sole occupant, trapped in his vehicle.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews went into action with hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the driver-side door and fold back the vehicle’s roof.
By 8.50pm, they had removed the man from the wrecked white 2018 Toyota Hilux.
A Queensland Police spokesman said initial investigations indicate the man was travelling west bound along the Warrego Highway when it left the road at Zimms Corner and crashed.
“Witnesses or anyone with relevant vision is urged to come forward,” he said.
Paramedics stabilised the man at the scene before he was taken to the Toowoomba Hospital and later flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for further treatment.
The Queensland Police Service Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the matter and are looking at fatigue and speed as possible contributing factors.
