Two trucks have reportedly collided on the Bruce Highway near Peters Rd, Bloomsbury.

Both lanes of the Bruce Highway are opened after two trucks collided this afternoon north of Mackay.

The Queensland Ambulance Service received reports just after 1.34pm about a crash near the intersection with Peters Rd at Bloomsbury.

A QAS spokeswoman said a man in his 50s was assessed at the scene with chest pain.

The highway fully reopened about 4.20pm with traffic running smoothly after lanes were reduced for hours.

This comes two days after a horror crash near Bowen took the life of a 37-year-old man.

More to come.
