The My First Year gallery is coming to a newsagent near you after much anticipation. See if your school is taking part, and where to find the online galleries.

After weeks of waiting the My First Year special feature of the Mackay Daily Mercury print edition is set to come out on April 4.

Starting prep can be a terrifying experience, but the beginning of a lifetime of learning and friendship is always worth celebrating.

Our Daily Mercury photographer has been out and about visiting the classrooms and the photo galleries are now under construction.

The My First Year liftout will feature more than 500 preppies across 100+ classes at 57 schools throughout the Mackay Whitsundays.

You can get your hands on the liftout inside the paper on Friday, April 4.
