Suns AFLW player Lauren Bella, born and raised in Mackay, encouraged everyone from her hometown to come out and experience the 2022 season kick-off on January 9 from 5.10pm.

“It’s an amazing opportunity to continue to grow our game in this region and really inspire the next generation of AFL and AFLW footballers in the region,” Bella said.
“Female football participation in Mackay has grown 20 per cent since the Suns AFLW team have been playing in my hometown and I want to continue to see that number grow.”
