If you have ever romanticised about running your very own hotel in tropical paradise, you might be in luck.

The Airlie Beach YHA has been listed for sale, providing a rare “opportunity to enter Queensland’s hotly contested coastal property market”.

The hostel is situated on the main street of Airlie Beach, a cruisy walking distance to the lagoon, restaurants, cafes and the cruise terminal.

It comprises 23 accommodation rooms with 93 beds, and a mix of private rooms, family rooms and co-living areas.

A two-bedroom managers residence, parking area and a swimming pool are also on the 1214sq m freehold site.

Potential buyers can choose to buy the property with vacant possession or retain the YHA branding under an affiliate franchise agreement.

CBRE Hotels’ Hayley Manvell and Raymond Tran have been exclusively appointed to sell the hostel.

Ms Manvell said she had seen a growing number of investors trying to capitalise on the domestic tourism boom, with many targeting the north Queensland markets.

“The level of demand we are currently seeing for regional and leisure assets is extraordinary,” Ms Manvell said.

“It’s particularly exciting to see buyers shifting their investment criteria and considering regional opportunities that weren’t previously on the radar.”

Expressions of interest for Airlie Beach YHA close on August 26, unless sold prior.
