A fallen powerline in Sarina which left hundreds without power has been resolved ahead of schedule and power restored.

Power was cut to almost 600 Sarina residents for nearly five hours after a power pole fell yesterday, also wiping traffic lights on the Bruce Highway.

Calls were made 1.45pm on Saturday, January 11 when a power pole on Williams St partially fell with power lines down in some trees.

It caused electricity to be cut to almost 40 streets in the area including the Bruce Highway and it is understood multiple drivers have called concerned about the issue.

An Ergon spokesman confirmed that power was restored to the area by 6.30pm and the situation had been completely resolved.

This came after a statement was made to the Ergon Energy Network Facebook page that power was not expected to be restored until at least 8pm.
